Promise Reminder : New Day! New President! Same old queues at fuel stations!

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is just one day old as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, but old demons have already reared their heads.

During his Presidential Inauguration speech, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced that his government will not be subsidizing petrol. This announcement caused a stir and somehow managed to dry up the fuel tanks of some filling stations across the country. Those stations with remaining fuel have hiked up prices, and the queues are back.

During his campaign, he said, 'You get to gas station, you don't find fuel, you wait for hours, I guarantee you that it will stop.' We seek to remind the newly inaugurated President of his promise to make fuel scarcity in Nigeria a thing of the past and to fulfill that promise, as it is essential to start on a good foot and build trust with the populace.
