President Muhammadu Buhari promised in the Next Level manifesto to “Train 200,000 youth for outsourcing market in technology, services and entertainment” in a bid to empower the youth with employable skills, to curtail the growing youth unemployment in the country.

Sunday Dare, minister of youths and sports development at the launch of a book titled ‘It’s Youth O’clock in Nigeria’, authored by Idris Ojoko, chairman of the forum of 36 states and FCT of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) said “One of our cardinals and most important programs is the DEEL, an acronym for Digital Literacy and Skills Acquisition, Entrepreneurship, Employability, and Leadership. Under this initiative, we have done a lot of work and close to 200,000 youths have undergone one kind of training or the other.”

From the available open-source information, the government has delivered training to 200,000 youths on Digital and Entrepreneurship skills, this promise is therefore rated “KEPT”.
