About the Role

The Program Assistant will support our 'Promoting Accountability & Service Delivery' in Edo State project. This initiative aims to monitor campaign promises made by Governor Monday Okpebolo, raise civic awareness among young people, and enhance citizen participation in governance through digital tools and community engagement.The Intern will work closely with the project team to carry out promise tracking, grassroots mobilization, assist in social media storytelling, and ensure smooth documentation of project activities. This role is ideal for a proactive, civic-minded individual passionate about governance, youth advocacy, and digital organizing.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Project Manager in coordinating offline outreach and civic education activities.
Assist in data collection, documentation, and reporting on tracked promises and field events.
Create and share social media content (graphics, videos, stories) tailored to Edo youth.
Support the organization of town hall meetings, CBJ workshops, and offline campaigns.
Attend and report on community events and radio/TV appearances.
Maintain accurate records and archives of project activities.
Help in engaging community-based journalists and youth advocates.
Perform other administrative and programmatic tasks as assigned.

Key Requirements

Minimum of OND/HND or Bachelor's degree (Social Sciences, Communication, Political Science, or related fields).
Resident in Edo State (preferably Benin City or nearby).
Strong interest in governance, civic engagement, and youth advocacy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
Basic digital/media skills (Canva, video editing, social media fluency).
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable (but not required)

Experience volunteering or working with a civil society organization.
Familiarity with the political landscape in Edo State.
Experience organizing or participating in community engagements or advocacy events.
