AdvoKC (pronounced "Advocacy") Foundation—a civic tech, youth-led governance organisation committed to using technology, art, and entertainment to advance transparency, public accountability, and active citizenship across Nigeria—is proud to announce the launch of Okpebholometer, a new accountability tool under its flagship Promise Tracker NG initiative.

Promise Tracker NG is a civic-tech platform developed to monitor and evaluate the fulfilment of campaign promises made by elected officials in Nigeria. Okpebholometer specifically focuses on collecting, tracking, evaluating, and communicating the progress of promises made by Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, particularly those outlined during his campaign and in his Manifesto of Renewed Hope.

The tool seeks to empower Edo residents with timely, reliable, and accessible information on the status of governance promises, with the aim of fostering a culture of transparency, trust, and participatory democracy in the state.

“Edo State is at a pivotal moment, and citizens deserve to know what progress is being made on the promises that brought this administration to power,” said Nelson Otabor, Programme Lead for Okpebholometer. “This platform is not just about tracking; it’s about making governance visible, responsive, and people-centred.”

Abiola Durodola, Executive Director of AdvoKC Foundation, emphasised that the launch reflects the organisation’s broader mission. “At AdvoKC, we believe democracy works best when citizens are informed and engaged. Okpebholometer is a bold reiteration of our commitment to fostering transparency and accountability in governance, while deepening citizen participation in how public promises are delivered.”

Okpebholometer will be supported over the next 12 months by the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF), a youth-focused initiative funded by the Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, and Luminate Group, and implemented by LEAP Africa. The support is part of a broader effort to empower young people and civic organisations to strengthen democratic governance and drive systemic change at the subnational level.Through Okpebholometer, citizens can monitor progress on campaign and policy promises, access data-driven evaluations of government actions, share feedback, and demand accountability from elected officials.

The platform will be updated regularly with verified information and is accessible via the Promise Tracker NG https://www.promisetracker.ng/stateTracker/edo
