On the campaign trail, one of the items in Seyi Makinde’s manifesto as an aspirant to the Agodi house was that "By the beginning of the second year, all workers under the employment of the Oyo State Government will also be enrolled into a state-oriented health insurance scheme in collaboration with the NHIS"

Issuing such a brazen, time-constrained statement, the state government gave the air that the promise will be prioritized from the first day in office. This was not the case. With the next general election less a year away, the status of the promise is ongoing.

In correspondence with two members of the Oyo state civil service, one claimed to have been enrolled in the scheme sometimes around July and have had no cause to use the service till date. The other, based in Lanlate claims she is yet to be enrolled in the scheme.

Giving the timeframe given to this promise, we rate it Broken.
